A recipe For Kindness

Fold two hands together
And express a dash of sorrow
Marinate it overnight
And work on it tomorrow

Chop one grudge in tiny pieces
Add several cups of love
Dredge with a large sized smile
Mix with the ingredients above

Dissolve the hate within you,
By doing a good deed,
Cut in and help your friend
If he should be in need.

Stir in laughter, love and kindness
From the heart it has to come,
Toss with genuine forgiveness
And give your neighbor some!

The amount of people served
Will depend on you,
It can serve the whole world,
If you really want it to!

ON THE ROAD AGAIN!

LarryBirdsCousin

My name is

and we live in a green forested beautiful small town in East Texas, "Jasper, the Jewel of the Forest" known as the gateway to the vast recreational area comprising Steinhagen Lake, Martin Dies State Park, Sam Rayburn Lake and the Toledo Bend Lake which touches parts of Texas and Louisiana. Jasper is the home of the Azalea Festival! In the spring, almost overnight our town is ablaze with azaleas of every hue, with a sprinkling of dogwoods, redbud and magnolia. Jasper, Texas, is truly GREEN all year, mostly from the surrounding wooded areas of vibrant fragrant pine trees.

Quite frequently during the year our Tradewinds Motor Home, towing our trusty little Jeep behind for local driving at our destination, will be seen heading out of the local highways to meet up with our friends in the Good Sam's RV group. We meet at various campsites and recreational areas throughout SE Texas and SW Lousiana and "allons le bontemps rouler!" A loose translation to that French expression is "a good time was had by all!"

Part of the entertainment revolves around plenty of good food and plenty of good fellowship! While we are catching up on our visiting, we also like to eat! We are there to have fun, not slave in a hot kitchen so the dishes must be easy, fast and above all, GOOD! Wash dishes, I think not, there is a reason God made paper plates!

My little cookbook called "The Portable Gourmet" contains a lot of good eats that fit the above criteria. To see the index of recipes, click below on the P is for PIE Link!
