Pecan Delight Pie

4 egg whites, (at room temperature)
1 cup sugar
1 3/4 TSP.. baking powder
1/4 TSP.. vanilla
2 cups coarsely broken saltine crackers
3/4 cup chopped pecans
2 cups cool whip
1/4 cup chopped pecans for the top of pie.

Whip egg whites on medium speed until soft peaks form. continue whipping on medium speed while gradually adding sugar and = baking powder. continue to whip until very stiff peaks form and all = sugar is dissolved. Add vanilla and mix well. Add saltine crackers and pecans; gently fold = in by hand. Pour into a greased 9"pie pan and bake at 325 deg. for 1 = hour remove from oven and cool upside down. when thoroughly cooled, top = with cool whip and sprinkle with pecans.
